My equipment consists only of a PC, sequencer software , a keyboard, a microphone, and a headphone - nothing else. No other musicians, instruments, sound-hardware - let alone: a studio and a sound engineer. This may not be an excuse for bad music, but it's absolutely the reason for nonprofessional recording.

Nowadays the mix is more essential than the music itself - in so far it's only a little footnote to declare: I still play myself - no sound-mix, no pre-arranged parts, patterns etc.
